This residential property is located in the Toronto area. The existing rock water feature and backyard fence reflect a Japanese landscape style. It is an intimate sized yard but is able to contain enough zones for full enjoyment and quiet reflection. The new design enhances the existing Japanese landscape style by using natural materials and plants such as Japanese maple and pine. Space is separated by adding a natural stone patio and a raised wooden deck.  In this way, space becomes richer and provide different layers and heights.  A pergola was also added in this backyard to provide shade and make space look more interesting.
